David Moore

David is a skilled carpenter and joiner, starting his trade at a young age.

He was the Joinery apprenticeship winner of the National Skill build competition in 1984, and the GB representative for Joinery at the Skill Olympics, Linz Austria, 1984 – so he has always had a passion for wood and restoration work.

He then expanded his professionalism into the sphere of carpentry, which tends to go hand in hand with joinery.

David and his wife Janice, decided to use their experience to set up Executive House Sitting for luxury homes in Sussex, Kent and the south.

Experienced site manager

Over the years, he has proved himself in site management working on various refurbishment and new build projects. These start from site setup, through to completion and handover, with the largest project being a West Sussex Heritage site refurbishment, valued at around £7.5 million. This means that he has worked in different sized properties and is familiar with the larger homes and estates.

Listed buildings

Dave has worked on various listed buildings and National Heritage projects, either with his joinery and carpentry skills, or as a site manager or both. These tend to be a bit more involved, as there are more key stakeholders involved. He also knows how much attention, maintenance and love older buildings require.

For the majority of the past 20 years, he has worked with a private family on their various private estates and properties in both Dorset and West Sussex.

Trusted and valued

As a trusted and valued individual, David has worked with the owners to bring their properties and estates to the level to which they expect, using all his skills and judgement to the full on a day-to-day basis.

He has continued to maintain these properties to an extremely high standard.

Meet Janice!

Over the past 20 years Janice has undertaken gardening duties on the West Sussex properties that I worked on and maintained.

Janice was a cook by trade, brought up our three children, and then when she returned to work, she was employed as a Counter Clerk with the Post Office in their home town of Bournemouth. When they decided to relocate to West Sussex to continue works on a new property for David’s private clients, Janice became a doctor’s receptionist for five years.

Home help

She then decided to start her own business as a home help, with gardening, shopping, cleaning, cooking, paperwork, and companionship to her varied and various clients locally, and this has been for about 8 years.

Janice is a trusted and hardworking confidante and friend to many of her clients and is well thought of by them all.

Together we make up Executive House Sitting

As a couple, we make the ideal team to look after your property in your absence. Not only do we have the practical skills to help, but we are loyal, reliant, discreet and trustworthy. This means you can relax when away, knowing that your house is in capable hands.

DBS Checked

We have both passed our DBS checks in relation to being a Host Family for international students from Chichester College. Students come from all over the world to study at Chichester college, and some choose to stay with a host family such as ourselves, and as such, we have been providing a family home experience for some 7 years now.

The stay can be anything from a two-week duration up to 10 months or more.

David is also DBS checked as a volunteer driver for Contact the Elderly, driving elderly people to an afternoon tea once a month, staying to chat and engage with the group.
